About Us

Our Mission

Countless usable instruments sit unused while kids and community programs go without music.  Share the Music connects existing resources to real needs — turning unused instruments into opportunities for creativity, confidence, and connection.

What We Do

Share the Music partners with nonprofits to help them thoughtfully place donated instruments where they are most needed. We focus on identifying specific needs from community programs and coordinating placements to ensure donations are distributed efficiently and intentionally. By supporting this process, we help organizations maximize the impact of the instruments they receive.

The Inspiration

Hi! I’m Annie, a Girl Scout from Thousand Oaks, California. I love playing music, and I want to help make instruments available for those who are not able to access them. Share the Music started as a plan for a community event where people repaired and donated instruments to students who needed them. While researching this event, I realized the problem wasn’t a lack of instruments, but that there wasn’t a good system to get them to the right people. I created Share the Music to connect donated instruments with students and community programs that need them.
